Chapter 1:

When I wake up I am in my bed once again. Everything from the previous night is little more than a blur in my mind. You know when you wake up with a massive hang over? Well this feels much the same. In an instant I not only know that I am alive but in my body. I am not quite sure that this is a good thing or not though? My entire body hurts down to its very core. I feel as if I just went through a few rounds with Iron Mike Tyson. I can’t figure out just why my entire body hurts so damn bad. I feel as if I had lifted massive amounts of weights the night before.

I force myself to get out of bed. I am still groggy, this is only dulled by the amount of pain that I am in. I feel as if I am coming off a two day booze and pill bender. The bathroom is semi spinning as I make my way into it. For a moment I have to place my hands on the wall just to keep my balance. Before I know it I am on my knees puking my guts out. The vomit rocketing out of my body is all foam like and taste extremely bitter. Whatever it was that I must have ate has made me sick, yes that is what this is just food poisoning.

Before I can even stop myself I am jumping up and hopping on the toilet. I begin to let everything out of my body with the force of a newly opened dam. Like my vomit the shit coming out of me is a horrific smelling foam. I feel my guts emptying whatever poison that lies within me. Finally after around fifteen minutes the horror is over. I don’t think that there is anything left in my body to expel, at least I hope not anyway. My head is spinning even more than it was before now. I climb into the shower and turn on the hot water. The heat of the water seems to bring me back to life if you will. I roll over onto my knees and look at my wrist.

On each of my wrist there are three puncture wounds. The wounds hurt yet there are no scabs on them at all. What the hell happened to me and how did I get these sets of perfect wounds? My ankles hurt as well. I look at them and see the same exact set of wounds. The water burns as it washes over them. After what I gather to be a half hour in the shower I feel a sense of clarity. The room quits spinning, I feel as if I am almost myself once again. Something happened to me last night, only I am not sure quite what. The wounds make me feel as if I was secured, strapped down and not in a good way. Something happened to me, something I can’t explain, but what?

I climb out of the shower and dry off.
